Legal Lawfts is located in the original location of Toby’s Practical Business College in downtown Waco. Edward Toby Jr. began his business college in 1893 out of his home. Five years later he moved into the second floor of

214 Fourth St. Toby’s Practical Business College first taught bookkeeping and penmanship. His emphasis was practical and hands-on training. Toby’s flamboyant advertising emphasized the best methods, best building and best teachers. Toby was a prolific writer and authored numerous books on banking, business and bookkeeping. He also became a nationally known handwriting expert and was often consulted in court cases.
